Thursday, September 12, 2013 was a significant a day for the residents, families and staff members of Thorne Crest Retirement Community. Thorne Crest hosted a small gathering to mark the beginning of a $13 million redevelopment project. When complete the project will transform the campus and offer residents the latest in senior living and health care. In addition to remodeling the exterior, the project includes building a new Wellness Center with a lap pool and therapy pool, locker rooms, cardio room and multipurpose room.
On Saturday, September 7, Thorne Crest held its annual Wellness 5K Run/Walk. More than 70 people participated. Of those, over 10 were over the age of 62! Mary Miller, Thonre Crest resident, took first place in the Senior division of the event. She fniished the walk in less than an hour, beating out many of the staff who thought they were keeping a good pace.
